Arctic circle baptism

Another blessing of visiting the Tromsø area was being able to attend the baptism of Janne Mari Hansen-Jenssens in one of the local swimming pools. It was exciting to see her enter the waters of baptism after seven years of regularly meeting with the small group of Tromsø members.

From top to bottom: Sister Miller, Sister Stocks, Janne Mari, Sister Bair and Alexander Michelsen; Elders Putt, Aland, Rumsey and Briggs taking a short cut up the hill to the pool which became a great baptismal font. On the right President and Sister Tew stand with Henrik, not yet a member, who will be attending BYU in the fall, and Tiril, also not a member quite yet, who lived in Heber City as a foreign exchange with President and Sister Jones, who now preside over a mission in Argentina.

Our Meetings on Sunday included members via Skype from Svalbard, far north of the Norwegian mainland, and a member who lives 3 1/2 hours from Tromsø. It is great to see how technology can unite Saints from distant places yet who all belong to the same small branch in North Norway.
