Christmas at home in norway

Updated: Jan 12, 2019

Norway is filled with traditions at Christmas, or Jul in Norwegian. Stores close for five consecutive days so shopping needs to be done early. We spent the week here with groups of missionaries coming to the mission home on various days to enjoy the spirit of the season.

This is the sunrise, around 9 am, Christmas morning from our back yard. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 34 degrees F.

An after Christmas dinner walk down to the fjord with the Oslo district, Elders McCourt, Sargent, Steele, Sobotka, Garlick, Cribbs, Sisters Tew, Morris and Stocks.

Akershus district for dinner on New Year's Eve day, Elder Arnesen, Putt, Garrett, Baird, Aland, Welch, Sisiters Brimhall, Madsen, Burkman and Richards.

Elder Garrett modeling the fox coat, the mission home from the back yard, Elder Putt demonstrating his one-armed pushup, selfie for Sisters Zenger and Scherschligt, random district selfies, Elder Cribbs making an angel and Elder Steele and Sobotka on a quick walk to the fjord. President Tew didn't dare post the photo of Elder Welch barely taking him down in an arm wrestle.
